The best approach to a well organized system is to categorize your home into sections and then focus on creating a system that can be easily adapted. What truly works when it comes to organization is creating a simpler way of efficiency.

.

10. Structure Your Life – This takes organization onto a higher level and this is done by streamlining your categorized sections from the organizational list. For example, your categorization may include Family, Household, Health, Social and so forth. The next step would be to create a process for each category that is easy to manage and will give you a streamlined outflow. Truly being organized or streamlining your home or life is all dependent on how productive you want to be as this tends to be one of the most dreaded things to do.

.

11. Organize Your Office – Same principle applied to the top points is also applicable here. Organizing your office is important as this space tends to function on due dates and hard set deadlines.  Same process works here is to categorize your needs and then create systems that work for you and help in providing a higher productivity outcome.

.

12. Copy Your Corporate Job – Sometimes the best place to learn how to manage things or which process to implement for yourself, is certainly from your job. Mainly because they have tested the system and process and decided on which ones are the most productive (ps: not all jobs are like that), but for those that are organized make a list of what you like and implement it into your business.

.

13. Create a Lifestyle Schedule – Create a working schedule for your home business or your side hustle. Have office hours that you assign for your work. Sometimes working for yourself might mean odd hours, especially if you have a family and are still working full time. Regardless of your situation, set time aside for your tasks. One of the best attributes of productivity is to deal with no to little frustrations. Working for yourself maybe tremendously challenging, schedule yourself into being productive not into no progress. Movement does not mean progress.

.

14. Set Goals – If you want to achieve something you have to set out your goals. Make sure your goals are clear and measurable. One of the greatest failures that most people face before even starting is not setting out clear goals. This can have a devastating impact on your success. You have to identify the goal, the. Break it down into smaller tasks that are easier to complete.

s

15. S. M. A. R. T  Goal Tracking System – There are different methods used to monitor the progress of your goals. It is so important to have a system that tracks your progress, performances and quality output. Below is one of our favorite goal tracking system we use S. M. A. R. T

  • Set – set or identify your goal
  • Measurable – your goals should be easy to measure
  • Action – you should then list your goals into easy tasks that can be acted upon, preferably referenced as action items
  • Realistic – your goals should be realistic, we are no longer in the dreaming stage, but action required phase. You cannot achieve success in one day.
  • Timely – set out a realistic timeframe to accomplish that goal. Do not give yourself little time or on the other hand to much time, as this will only create frustrations if the goal is not achieved in a timely timeframe

.

16. Create a Daily Task List – This is so important to add to your schedule. You have to set out the tasks that will achieve your goal. When creating a task list some prefer a variation of a timeframe for creating their list, from yearly, monthly, weekly to daily.  The best approach would be to identify the goal as stated above, then break it down from that longest time frame to the smallest one. But to be more productive, have weekly tasks that you must complete towards your goal, and if you want to break it down further, have daily tasks. The best approach to be your most productive self, is to always know exactly what you’re doing before you start your daily schedule.

.

17. Prioritize Your Work – Always identify which tasks of a higher priority. This is especially important if you’re getting close to a deadline, or writing content for a specific holiday. It is always best to categorize which work should be done first, as this removes the stress of having to battle with deadlines, which is truly unprofessional.

.

18. Over Tasking – Where are my super humans!! This is one of the most deadly things you can do for yourself, over tasking or over scheduling. You will run yourself into a wall, and that only means mounting frustrations. The thing with failure is that it comes with other negative emotions and this is a perfect recipe to have those negative emotions bubble up. Please, do not self sabotage, manage your schedule effectively.

.

19. Start Your Day Early – As you are starting your goals, one of the best tricks that has worked for us, is starting our days earlier. Carve some time either for yourself to get prepared for the day, or quickly knock out some of your to do list. This may mean, stealing a moment here and there to quickly get a task done. But don’t overdo it, where you will start to be less productive. If you cannot start earlier, stick to your schedule.

.

20. Complex Goals – This is similar to setting up a priority list, but more detailed. There are some tasks that may be a bit difficult to accomplish in one setting. The best way is when you are setting out your weekly schedule, identify a day, where you can just set aside time to complete the complex tasks. Some prefer to get the easier tasks done first and then focus on the harder ones. This gives them the momentum to quickly check off the list as many tasks as possible before the complex ones.

.

21. Set a Task Timer – This is one of the newest favored time management tools or ideas. Where you set a timer for each task. If you give yourself an hour to complete a task, this means that you are highly concentrating on that one particular task, with no disruptions. Usually when you are laser focused, you tend to accomplish tasks at a much faster speed. This is why it’s always important to have your task outlined for the day, way before your schedule starts. Some take this to extreme levels where there are no phone calls, emails or any disruptions when completing a timed task.

.

22. Set Reasonable Deadlines – This is so important to carefully administer. Many people are so hyped into starting a new adventure, but unfortunately lack the skill set to manage a long duration task. You need to pace yourself and not over work. Set realistic deadlines. Especially when dealing with clients, it is better to under schedule than over schedule. The same philosophy is true for runners, there are different techniques in running a sprint and a marathon.  Determine if your goal is a sprint or a marathon and schedule accordingly to productive needs.

.

23. Create a Follow Up Task List – There are so many things we have to follow up and truly it can be a whole new task list altogether. One of the best ways to manage this is to create another task list. Create a follow up task list that has its own deadlines and inserted into their town schedules. This could range from email follow ups, phone calls to child care needs. Put this on a follow up or routine task list as they may need more attention.

.

24. Automate Your Task – This is one of the best parts about the digital world! It makes life much easier to organize and streamline. Look through your tasks or to do list and identify which areas you can automate your task lists. This will save you so much time and as this is passively done and frees  up your time. The best action items to automate are tasks that are repetitive and have the same outcome. For instance, paying bills is perfect for you to automate.

.

25. Outsource – This is another great way to increase productivity mainly for your business and some household tasks. This allows you to get the best quality output and not mention the amount of time you will save in the process. Some of the best action items that work best for this option are business needs such as a virtual assistant, or copywriter for blogging or an ad agency for your marketing. For households, one of the most desired tasks is cleaning or laundry needs.

.

26. Schedule Your Days Off – This may seem as a luxury item to have on your calendar especially if you are setting up that side business, managing a household, working  full time and raising kids. There is truly no time left in the day to even just breathe. With that said, look through the past productive points and see where you can save or buy time back for yourself. It doesn’t have to be a full day off, but surely a good hour to yourself can make a great difference and will help you in the long run by increasing your productivity.

.

27. Procrastination – This is a deadly attribute to have and one that can affect your quality of life. Never before have we had so many things that need to be in charge and over multitasking.  Many goals in life are not achieved because of procrastinating. The best approach to do away with this behavior is to be highly focused, organized and be proactive in time management. These skills are so imperative in leading a productive life. The best way to erase procrastinations is aim to be a positive over achiever, this will truly help you to build qualities that will sustain you, as you manage your goals.

This will serve you more, because you are zoned into one thing, master it and then add the next platform.  Most of the time, success is much easily achieved by taking small strides.

.

33. Social Media Blackout – This is totally a must on any schedule. Social media though it’s perfect for running our businesses or connecting with each other, it can be a distraction if not managed correctly.
